Obituary of Michael Evanchick

Michael L. Evanchick, 75, of Castleton passed away peacefully at home on November 19, 2023.  Born in Albany he was the son of the late Michael and Myrtle Evanchick.  Michael was an Air Force veteran having served in Germany as a Morse Code interceptor prior to his honorable discharge in 1971.  He earned an Associates Degree in engineering from Hudson Valley Community College and went on to start his own company, Evanchick Builders, providing home building services throughout the capital region.

Michael enjoyed flying and attending air shows and was an avid reader of all things planes and engineering.  He also enjoyed watching Duke basketball and was a diehard LA Dodgers fan.

He is survived by his loving wife Karen Evanchick; son, Randy (Alyssa) Evanchick; daughter, Denise (Derek) Lobban and his grandchildren, Samantha, Jace, Austin (Danielle) and Amanda (Cody Langenbach).

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau, on Monday, November 27 from 10AM-12PM.  Inurnment in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery will take place at 1:30PM following the calling hours. 

In lieu of flowers donations in Michael’s memory may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
