Obituary of Gerald A. Hoyt

Jerry Hoyt, 52, passed away on January 23rd. Jerry was born on August 31, 1963. Jerry grew up in Schodack, graduated from Maple Hill High School, and studied culinary arts at Schenectady County Community College. As a young man, he was active in the Boy Scouts and the Spirit of '76 Fyfe and Drumm Corps. Most recently, Jerry worked for Sodexo at RPI. Jerry and his family lived in Florida for a number of years before returning to this area. Jerry was a proud and affectionate father. He loved to laugh and was extremely generous. Predeceased by his father Albert and wife Lisa. He is survived by his sons, Cody and Corey, mother Marcia, siblings Amy (Chuck Schomaker), Mark, and Stephen (Christine Vanderlan), and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held at First Lutheran Church, 181 Western Ave., Albany, Sat. Jan. 30, 12:00 noon. Reception to follow at the church.
