Elfriede M. Kuch Nassau Elfriede M. Kuch, 88, of Nassau, NY died peacefully at home Sunday, January 23, after a brief illness. She was born October 29, 1922 in Hanover, Germany and came to this country as a young child. She was affectionately known as Oma or Frieda, to her loving offspring and many friends. She lived most of her adult life in the Nassau area. Elfriede was an active participant in the Southern Tier Senior Center, and Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, playing cards, and singing in various choirs. She is predeceased by her husband William H. Kuch. Survivors include son William and wife Janis Kuch; son Dennis and wife Katie Kuch; son Gary and wife Ellen Kuch; daughter Ellen Allen; grandsons Birch Kuch and wife Leila, Scott Allen; granddaughters Christine Allen-Valenzuela and husband Isaac Valenzuela, Maggie Kuch, Rachael Kuch, Krista Crowell and husband Michael Crowell; great granddaughter Taylor Crowell; great grandsons Blake and Chase Crowell; companion and dear friend Chester Smith and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau, on January 28th at 6:00 PM. Relatives and friends may call prior to the service from 3-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County 295 Valley View Blvd. Rensselaer NY 12144 or the American Cancer Society P.O.
