Paul J. McGrath, 68, of Nassau passed away at St. Peter's Hospital on April 24, 2017. Born in Albany to the late William and Margaret McGrath he was a graduate of St. John's Academy in Rensselaer and a lifetime Nassau resident. Paul was a Coast Guard veteran and was retired from his job as a machine operator at the Freihofer Baking Co. Mr. McGrath was a member of the Chandler Young VFW Post 8162 as well as the Nassau American Legion Post 1268. Paul is survived by his wife Helen "Terri" McGrath; son, Patrick J. (Alison) McGrath of Marshfield MA; daughter, Shannon E. Bauer of Mechanicville; sister, Joyce A. McGrath of Rensselaer and five granddaughters. All are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church in Nassau on Friday at 1:00 PM. Relatives and friends may call at the Thomas P Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau prior to the Mass from 10:30AM to 12:30PM. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Nassau. Donations in Paul's memory may be made to the American Heart Association at 4 Atrium Drive #100 Albany, NY 12205. Online condolences may be offered at Mooneyfuneralhome.com
