Edith M. Hiles, 96, of Rensselaer passed away in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital on January 20, 2021. Born in Rensselaer she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Edith (Shaw) Lewis. Edith was retried from Key Bank where she worked as the head teller in the Schodack location. She was a member of the Best-Luther Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, was an avid quilter, enjoyed reading and never missed an episode of Jeopardy.
Edith was predeceased by her husband Leonard A. Hiles Sr., ; siblings, Richard, Irvin, Edward, and Oscar Lewis, Helen Stanwix and Constance Olmstead. She is survived by her son, Leonard A. Hiles Jr.; daughters, Lorraine (Henry) Skarzynski, Ada Olcott and Lucille (Robert) Heidelmark; brother, Kenneth Lewis and sister, Ada Quehe. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
