Obituary of Dolores J Gruber

Dolores June Gruber, 90, of Nassau, NY passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2021. Born in Glasco, NY, Dolores was the daughter of the late Dionisio and Fannie Mauro of Glasco, NY. Dolores was a lifetime resident of Saugerties, NY, and graduated from Saugerties High School in 1948. Following graduation, she immediately began to work for Ulster County Department of Civil Service, from which she retired in 1996. Dolores was predeceased by her siblings Frank Mauro, Dennis Mauro, and Eleanor Naccarato. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Gruber of Nassau, her son Kurt G. Gruber (Eleonore) of Kiskatom, NY, her granddaughter Aarika (Kristoffer) Friend of Trumbull, Connecticut, her sister Shirley Carpenter (Robert), as well as several nieces and nephews. Dolores also leaves behind her caregiver "Angels," including "Mama" Jean Dobbs, Colleen, Kathy, Marcia, and Rachael, in addition to her devoted friend and nurse, Joan McTague. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm Street, Nassau New York, on Friday evening from 4-6:00 PM, with a funeral service to begin at 6:00.
