Obituary of Linda Burl

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Linda Burl, 65, of Nassau, died peacefully at Rosewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on August 4. The daughter of the late David and Marjorie Mehleisen, Linda was a Columbia High School graduate and served her community as a driver for children with disabilities at Rejah Group School Bus. In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her beloved husband Gary and her son Gary Jr. as well as her older sister Donna Wilkes. She is survived by her sister, Terry Nelson (John) of East Greenbush, and her nieces Christina (Fiancé Shawn), Amanda (Adrian), and Brittany (Fiancé Andrew) as well as her nephews James Wilkes and Paul Wilkes; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Helen Burl; and her friend Michelle Anast; as well as countless cousins. She was loved by numerous nieces and nephews and was known as “Aunt Linda” to all, whether they were family or not. She was an avid NASCAR fan and loved Dale Ernhardt Jr. Affectionately referred to as “The Crazy Cat Lady,” Linda opened her doors to any cat in need, whether she had planned on adopting more or not. In lieu of flowers and a service Linda’s memory would best be honored by a donation in her name to the Columbia Greene Humane Society 111 Humane Society Road Hudson, NY 12534. https://cghs.org/donate/
