Barbara A. Secor, 70, of Nassau lost her battle with cancer on Friday, September 10th surrounded by family during her brief stay at the Hospice Inn at St. Peters Hospital. Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Eleanor Hutchings and Edward Secor; her daughter, Rebecka (Nalley)Couse; her boyfriend, John Holland; and her nephew, James Jubrey. She is survived by her stepmother, Marge Secor; son Stephen Nalley; daughters Kaitlyn (Rachel) Fulston, and Kimberley Nalley; brothers Lee (Helen) Secor, and Ronnie (Brenda) Secor; sister Nancy (Brian) VanDeusen; as well as her grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and her nephew. Barbara worked at Eddy Hawthorne Ridge in the Memory Care unit where she formed close relationships with the residents. She loved helping people and would do anything for those she cared for. Barbara was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, fashion, bowling, and darts. She was also a member of the Chandler Young VFW Women’s Auxiliary. Calling hours will be held at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St, Nassau, NY 12123 on Wednesday Sept. 22 from 4-7pm. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 2nd at the Chandler Young VFW Post, 7 Lyons Lake Rd. Nassau, NY 12123 from 3pm-7pm. All friends and family are welcome.
