Obituary of Eva M. Norton

Eve M. Norton, 91, passed away on January 12, 2022, at home following a brief illness. She was the daughter of Samuel Maytan and Eva Sadlon Maytan. She was born and raised in Herkimer, NY. She graduated from Hartwick College with a degree in nursing. Eve was a head nurse for seven years at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, where she met her future husband, Lyle F. Norton. They have three children, daughters Lisa and Karen, and son, Dana. Eve was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Albany where she loved being in the choir and participating in the women’s group supporting community outreach and fundraising. She enjoyed keeping in contact with family and friends through cards and letters. Eve and Lyle both enjoyed going to classical music concerts and spending time with family. Eve is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lyle Norton, her children Lisa (Paul Rose), Karen (Charles Ewing, deceased), Dana Norton and grandchildren, Aidan and Calvin Rose.
