Obituary of Arden Edward Hamilton

Please share a memory of Arden to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
ARDEN EDWARD HAMILTON was born on July 20, 1943 and peacefully transitioned to eternal life on January 13, 2022 in Albany, New York. Arden built his life in Rensselaer County. He attended LaSalle Institute and Albany Academy before studying at SUNY Albany and Siena College. An astute businessman and entrepreneur, Arden co-owned Berkshire Fuel and Berkshire Limousine. Over the years, he also operated the Harris Inn and acted as Vice President of the Schodack Business Association. In his younger days, Arden could be found hosting elaborate dinner parties at his home on Lenox Road. He will be dearly remembered for his giving heart. His door was open all hours of the day and night to share a meal or help someone in need. Arden enjoyed his free time with his long-time friends George Zimmerman, Danny Malsan, Richard Saxton and William "Bill" Fuller. Arden is preceded in death by his mother (Mary Edna McGowan), father (E. Arden Hamilton), brother (Jeffrey John Smith) and nephew (John William Smith). He is survived by his sister, Mary (Michael) Hamilton Proctor of Palm Springs, CA, his nieces, Kara (Curt) Seifridsberger of Wynantskill, NY and Scotti (Derek) Fisher of West Sand Lake. To honor his life well lived, a private graveside service will be held this spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to LifePath NY (2 Colvin Ave., Suite 2, Albany, NY 12206, lifepathny.org) as a gesture of thanks for 9 years of service to Arden.
