Obituary of Barbara L. Eastman

Barbara L. Eastman, 86, of Castleton passed away at home on Nov. 3, 2022 surrounded by family.  Born in Holyoke Mass. to the late Alfred and Leona (Quesnel) Renauld.  Barbara was an Honors Society graduate of Holyoke High School and went on to become the senior auditor for the N.Y.S. Department of Audit and Control eventually retiring in 1997.  She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Nassau and was a member of the South Schodack Fire Dept.  Barbara enjoyed creating ceramic pieces and spending quality time with her grand and great-grandchildren.  She cherished her trips to vacation in Florida, daily rides in the country and traveling to Boston to attend games at Fenway Park.    

She is survived by her loving husband Stuart Eastman of Castleton; son, Paul S. Eastman; daughter, Linda G. Amedio (Tom); brother James Renauld; grandchildren, Jessica Amedio and Christopher A. Amedio; great-granddaughter, Evelyn E. Amedio and several nieces, nephews and godchildren.  She was predeceased by her brothers Raymond and Alfred Z. Renauld.

Relatives and friends are invited to Barbara’s Funeral Mass on Monday, Nov. 7, 10:30am at St. Mary’s Church, 26 Church St. Nassau, NY 12123.  Interment of cremains will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nassau.  A gathering of family and friends will follow her interment at the South Schodack Fire Hall, 1567 Bame Road Castleton, NY 12033.   In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to St. Mary’s Church PO Box 435 Nassau, NY 12123 or to The Community Hospice 310 S. Manning Blvd.  Albany, NY 12208.
